2020 is a big year for Fairland Contractors. It’s our thirtieth anniversary. To celebrate we have a series of blog articles coming up which will include some top thirty lists! We feel very fortunate that over our years in the leisure industry refurbishment business, we have worked with some fantastic clients. In this month’s post, we thought we’d share thirty of those with you.
Thirty Years of Fairland Contractors – Thirty Featured Clients:
Fulmer Research Institute:
Firstly, all the best stories have a beginning and this was ours. Fulmer Research Institute was our very first Fairland Contractors client.
Fulmer was the first contract research organisation in the UK. It undertook many important projects and services for industry and government in materials technology, physics and chemistry from 1945 when it was founded. Sadly, Fulmer has since ceased trading. But we will always look back on them with fond memories of being our first client!
If you’re based in the Midlands, you might, like us, have fond memories of Ansells. This regional brewery was originally founded in Aston, Birmingham, England in 1858.
Warrington-based brewer, Greenall Whitley transformed itself from its humble beginnings of a family-run regional brewery. In the 1990s it became the revamped Greenalls Group, and, at the time, one of Britain’s biggest independent pub retailers.
We worked with Allied Domecq when it was an international company, headquartered in Bristol. At the time its restaurant brands included Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins.
These guys have been around much longer than us! They were founded in 1799. Greene King is one of the country’s leading pub retailers and brewers, running over 2,700 pubs, restaurants and hotels in towns, villages and city-centre high streets across England, Wales and Scotland.
Hall and Woodhouse:
Just like Greene King, Hall and Woodhouse have also been around since the late eighteenth century. Today, Hall and Woodhouse consist of a large family of pubs with history as rich as their beers.
What a magical company to work with! Wizard Inns made big changes in the pub and leisure industry, and at Fairland Contractors, we’re delighted to have been part of that.
Who doesn’t love to feel like they’re dining in beautiful Paris? This French Bistro styled chain has been delighting diners with ‘Steak Frites’ since 1989.
At Fairland Contractors, it’s not always about pub refurbishment. We also work with retailers like Cath Kidston. Originally, a small shop in West London selling car boot finds and fabric… Now a global brand!
Another French-inspired dining chain that we’ve had the pleasure to work with. During its heydey Cafe Flo had eight London-based restaurants.
Neals Yard Organics:
Some jobs just smell better than others… And Neals Yard Organics is always a sensory delight! Since the early 1980s this modern apothecary has been creating award-winning natural and organic health and beauty.
Renowned throughout the hospitality industry, Holiday Inn has been offering a warm welcome to guests in the US since the 1950s. We’re delighted to have been part of their journey in the UK.
Lucky Voice Karaoke Bars:
Forget about singing in front of the mirror with a hairbrush. Head to party central instead… Lucky Voice Karaoke Bars. Find them in London, Brighton and Dubai!
Authentic Italian restaurants in beautiful buildings, with contemporary interiors that we’ve had the pleasure of working in and on!
This restaurant group serves Great British beef sourced exclusively from award-winning butchers. Always a joy to visit after a job has been completed.
From farm to fork, the team at Daylesford Organic offer seriously delicious food. Find them in Gloucestershire and across London.
From Aberdeen to Brighton and everywhere in between. BrewDog is on a mission to ensure the nation is as passionate about craft beer as they are. We’ll raise a glass to that!
Oakman Inns has a simple mission… To create the perfect environment for friends, family and neighbours to come together and enjoy great food and drink. We feel fortunate to have played a part in helping them to do exactly that!
Sometimes, only chocolate will do… And when we need a quick fix we head to Hotel Chocolat, luxury chocolatiers and stellar clients of Fairland Contractors.
Founded in the late 1970s this national chain of award-winning pubs & hotels is a much-loved British institution.
Scottish & Newcastle:
Originally a brewing company headquartered in Edinburgh, all those with a fondness for Newcastle Brown will no doubt have ventured through one of this pub company’s doors at some point.
Owners of Harvester restaurants in the mid-1990s, Bass Taverns was eventually acquired by Mitchells & Butlers, also clients of Fairland Contractors.
Punch Taverns love pubs of all shapes and sizes. They believe it’s not just about the pint, but also the people and the place. We’ve worked on many pubs with Punch of all shapes and sizes!
We worked with this group before they became part of Greene King Pub Partners.
Award-winning barber shops with premises in Edinburgh and across London. A must-visit if you (or someone you know) need(s) a good wash and brush up.
The London stores for this Italian fragrance brand are a sight to behold. Decadent and luxurious to reflect the beautiful products from Ortigia.
The largest portfolio manager of pubs in the UK, with over 4,000 properties.
Fuller’s Smith & Turner:
A stalwart of the pub industry, Fuller’s has an enviable pub estate of around 400 premises.
Brunning & Price:
Since 1989 Brunning & Price has grown from a small collection of pubs in the north-west of England to a family of pubs spanning the country.
